CELLS brings together computer scientists and microbiologists studying computation and communication in cells. The workshop covers topics from both fields, with a focus on computation emerging from microbiological units — bacteria, viruses, DNA — interacting with each other.
Topics include, but are not limited to: synthetic biology, bacterial computing, DNA computing, population protocols, Markov chains, modelling with cellular automata, infection models, and evolutionary models.
The workshop is held as a single day of invited talks, alongside DISC, the International Symposium on Distributed Computing.
